The Moth in the Mirror (Splintered #1.5)

The Moth in the Mirror - A.G. Howard

An original ebook-only novella in the Splintered series, told from the points of view of both Jeb and Morpheus. Morpheus wants to know more about his rival for Alyssa's affections, so he digs into Jeb's memories of his time in Wonderland. But he may be surprised by what he finds.

This brand-new story and perspective from A.G. Howard's dark, magical world stands alone, but also provides a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come in Unhinged, the sequel to Splintered.

Having just read Splintered when a friend mentioned to me that this novella was out in this series I just had to immediately download it onto my kindle. And I wasn't disappointed. I am such a massive fan of this series that The Moth in the Mirror was a must-read.

The Moth in the Mirror revisits some scenes in Splintered that we don't really get to see. As Splintered is told soley from Alyssa's POV then we don't get to see the things that happens to Jeb when he is away from Alyssa. That is what this gem of a novella does. It shows us some things from Jeb's POV that is guaranteed to make you adore him even more!

Morpheus... oh my Morpheus. I can see that he's going to be trouble in Unhinged... and I can't wait! I just love love love him. Even when I'm angry at him I still love him and I have a feeling there's a lot more anger to come.

One thing I adored about this novella is we get to see inside the heads of the two boys. It's so cleverly written so even though scenes are being told from Jeb's POV you can still see hints that Morph is actually telling it also. I think that's an incredible skill and only a few writers are talented enough to pull it off. AG Howard being one who can pull it off effortlessly! She is phenomenal.

I don't usually love novellas as I find them too short to really love. By the time you're starting to really get into it it's over. However as I was already way into it with Splintered I thought this novella was fantastic. I absolutely loved it and it made me love Jeb an Morph even more. It has me itching to get my hands on Unhinged and continuing this addictive story.
