Astarte's Wrath (Kythan Guardians #0.5)

Astarte's Wrath (Kythan Guardians, #0.5) - Trisha Wolfe

A tragic love story.

Two thousand years before Dez Harkly developed her secret powers, Guardian Astarte was vowed to protect by the binds enslaving her to the Egyptian pharaohs. Discover the prophecy that originated from a very different time, and spans generations to link two very different girls.

This is the beginning.

Set against the backdrop of the Battle of Actium, in the city of Alexandria, Star struggles with her guardian duties as her feelings for the newly named pharaoh of Egypt grow deeper. Not only is Caesarion her duty, he’s the son of Cleopatra, and he’s human. All of which makes their love forbidden.

But when a conspiracy linked to Caesar creeps into Alexandria, Star must choose between helping her fellow Kythan free themselves of their servitude, and protecting her charge—the last pharaoh—while Egypt burns around her.

"You were created to be with me."

I was so excited to finally read this book. Trisha Wolfe is without a doubt one of my favourite authors, I absolutely adore her and love all of her work. I actually beta read this book but really wanted to wait until I had read the finished version before writing my review. Astarte's Wrath just completely and utterly blew me away.

Trisha Wolfe just completely blew me away with this book. Her writing style is just amazing and completely drew me in right from the very start and I literally could not put this book down (both times). Although Astarte's Wrath is a companion novel to Destiny's Fire it is completely not necessary to have read Destiny's Fire first. I have not yet read Destiny's Fire and Astarte's Wrath is such a phenomenal book that it is strong enough to stand on its own and it a phenomenal story and adventure on its own without leaning on Destiny's Fire.

Star is such an awesome character. I adore her! We see the story through Star's eyes and we really go on this incredible emotional journey along with her. She is completely kick-ass and she does what she feels is right and trusts her instincts rather than going along with what other people say. I absolutely adore her!

Xarion... oh my word bestill my heart because I am in love yet again! Xarion is perfect! Everything you would ever want in a book boyfriend Xarion has. He is sweet, romantic, super hot, sexy and passionate! I instantly fell in love with him and every scene he was in I was sat reading with the biggest cheesy grin on my face you could ever imagine! I adore him!

Trisha Wolfe deserves a damn medal for this book! Considering it is a historical (set in Egyptian times) and I am so not a historical fan I adored this book! I was completely captured by the characters and their stories I literally could not stop reading. Trisha brings the perfect balence of history with a touch of magic which makes this book completely phenomenal and unique.

Astarte's Wrath is a fantastic must-read that completely tugs at the heart-strings! It had me laughing one moment and crying the next! It hurt my heart but it was so worth it for this phenomenal breath-taking journey.

"I would give up my crown, if it meant finding a way to free you, Star."
