Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits #1.5)

Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits, #1.5) - Katie McGarry

Katie McGarry captivated readers with her "riveting, emotional"* Young Adult debut, Pushing the Limits. In this gripping novella, she tells the story of Lila and Lincoln, who discover that sometimes it's worth crossing the line for love...

Lila McCormick first met Lincoln Turner when tragedy struck both their lives. But she never expected their surprise encounter would lead to two years of exchanging letters-or that she'd fall for the boy she's only seen once. Their relationship is a secret, but Lila feels closer to Lincoln than anyone else. Until she finds out that he lied to her about the one thing she depended on him for the most.

Hurting Lila is the last thing Lincoln wanted. For two years, her letters have been the only thing getting him through the day. Admitting his feelings would cross a line he's never dared breach before. But Lincoln will do whatever it takes to fix his mistakes, earn Lila's forgiveness-and finally win a chance to be with the girl he loves.

There are no words to describe just how excited I was to finally sit down and read this novella. Ever since I was lucky enough to get a review copy of Pushing the Limits I have officially been obsessed with Katie McGarry and her phenomenal books. Crossing the Line was no different! It was a phenomenal story that just leaves you wishing it was much longer.

Lila has a secret: she is in love with a boy she only met once. Lila met Lincoln when tragedy struck and her best friend's brother was killed. Brought together by tragedy Lila and Lincoln start a pen-pal relationship. Friendship that slowly grows into more Lila and Lincoln are perfect for each other... even though they live hundreds of miles away from each other. When Lila discovers that Lincoln lied to her she is heartbroken. He was the one person she thought she could trust. Determined to win her back Lincoln has a plan. But will it crash and burn or will Lila and Lincoln finally find the love that they both deserve?

I freaking adored this book. As usual Katie McGarry's writing was just phenomenal. It completely hooked me right from the first paragraph and I was completely sold. I was so enraptured by Lila and Lincoln's story that I just could not put it down until I had finished the whole think. This is just a must-read, as is anything by Katie and is definitely not to be missed.

Lila, ahh I love her. She is so awesome and from meeting her in Pushing the Limits I always saw her as this strong force that nothing could break. One thing I love about Crossing the Lines so much is that you see a more softer, vulnerable side to Lila that you never did in Pushing the Limits. I felt like it really gave her more depth as a character and she is completely relatable. She is such a strong heroine that you can't help but love yet she has these fears that everyone at her age has and you really sympathise with her and feel everything that she does.

Lincoln... okay it is official. Katie McGarry writes the most amazing boys ever! I fell in love with Noah first... then I fell in love with Ryan... and now OMG I am head-over-heels in love with Lincoln! Man these guys challenge ever JLA's boys.... YES I did really just say that. Lincoln is one of the sweetest bookish guys ever. You will fall in love with him and as much as he is sweet and swoon-worthy he isn't perfect. He makes mistakes and does everything he can to rectify them. I think that is one of the reasons I love him so much. In so many books there are guys who are just so perfect that it's not possible for them to be real but Lincoln is so realistic he could be the guy you bump into in the supermarket. I love him!

Lincoln and Lila's relationship is so real and beautiful I seriously just wanted to keep reading. When I got to the end and turned the page I was like "that's it? but I want moooorrrreeee". Katie McGarry's books are just one of my crazy obsessions and I never want them to end. Crossing the Line is all I expected and more. I have come to learn that whatever you expect... no matter how high your expectations for Katie's books she will just surpass them and blow you away. She is that phenomenal and she can literally do no wrong! She is THAT good! I am completely and utterly in love with her and if you have read none of her books then I urge you to go out and get them and read them. You will not be disappointed but make sure you are ready because they will take over your life and she will forever be the queen of YA Contemporary novels. Nothing quite compared to Queen Katie McGarry.
Phenomenal!

I am now anxiously awaiting 'Crash Into You' .... I don't think I can survive this wait!
