The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2)

The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2) - Julie Kagawa

In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

Ever since my good friend Donna from Book Passion for Life bought me The Iron Fey series I have been pretty much obsessed with all things Julie Kagawa. So yes I can thank my Julie fangirling to Donna. Right from the start of The Iron Fey I was obsessed with Julie's amazing writing style and world-building and my obsession has not under any circumstances faded. So when I got the latest installment in The Iron Fey series it's fair to say I was a little over excited. And it 100% did not disappoint. I loved every single moment of it.

Ethan hates the Fey. It doesn't matter than his sister is a Fey Queen he never wants to set foot in that world again. But when his nephew goes missing he is torn back into the world of the Fey and he is enlisted onto yet another super dangerous journey. But the Forgotten Fey are digging their claws further into the world of the Fey. Now it is no longer a question of when Ethan's journeys with the Fey will end but will they all get out of it alive.

Right from the very first page I was drawn back into Julie's phenomenal world of Faery. Julie Kagawa is such a talented author and I couldn't get enough of her stories, characters and incredible action-packed journey. The Iron Traitor was literally unputdownable and I just couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen in the end.

Ethan is one of my favourite lead male protagonists I have ever read. I felt like he had really grown as a character from the person we met at the beginning of The Lost Prince to who we are following now. He has begun to realise that his life is always going to be entangled with that of the Fey and as much as he hates it there is not much he can do. I loved seeing the protective side of Ethan when it came to Kenzie and how he would do anything to protect her. It is honestly a surprise for me to enjoy this part of The Iron Fey series as I am very much a reader who prefers female points of view to male and for the most part can't really get into books that has only a male point of view but this series is definitey the exception. I adore Ethan.

The Iron Traitor was a phenomenal, heart-wrenching installment in The Iron Fey series. I adored every single moment of it. It's completely action packed that will have you sat on the edge of your seat flying through the pages at lightning speed because you just can't stop reading. I couldn't read this book fast enough as I just needed to know what was going to happen to these characters. Although I just knew bad things were about to happen I just had to know what was going to happen and was sat with bated breath right until the very end.

Julie Kagawa is one of the most talented authors of all time. She is incredible and I just can't get enough of her. Whether it is this Iron Fey series or her darker Blood of Eden series, I just can't get enough and yet again I am dying for her next book. The Iron Traitor will throw you headfirst into a dangerous journey of the Fey and monsters. You will laugh, you will cry and experience every emotion in between. The Iron Traitor is an emotional rollercoaster and the ending will have you needing the final book right now. That is how you do a cliffhanger people. Yet again Julie had me hanging on her every word and reeling from the ending. The Iron Fey series is without a doubt a must read. I loved every single moment of it.
