Faking It (Losing It #2)

Faking It - Cora Carmack

Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

"Whatever stupid reasoning you've got for staying away from me, it's wrong. And I won't stop until I've proven it to you."

For the love of all hawtness! I could not wait to read this book from the moment I had heard of it. I was incredibly lucky to have received an ARC of Cora's debut novel last year, Faking It, for the blog tour and I instantly fell in love with it. It was just incredibly. While reading Losing It as much as I loved Garrett I just couldn't help but love Cade too so when I heard we were getting a Cade book I was soooo excited and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Let me tell you. Faking It is sooooo much better than Losing It. I loved everything about it more. I still adore Losing It and adore Garrett and Bliss but I just loved Cade's story so much more!

Cade had his heart broken by his best friend. As if that's not bad enough he still gets to see her happiness all the time. The only thing Cade wants is to get over Bliss and move on with his life. But he wasn't expecting the whirlwind to hit his life in the form of Max.
Max has always had a problem she is a musician and tattooed and her family don't accept her as who she is. When they pay an unexpected visit she knows she needs to put on a front. When she spots Cade in a cafe she knows he is perfect. Exactly the kind of guy her parents would approve of. Agreeing to pretend to be together for the duration of Max's parents stay Cade and Max aren't prepared for the unexpected sparks to fly. Can they go their separate ways after the visit or will fate bring them together once more?

I seriously have no words to explain how much I adored this book. I really loved reading Cades story and I really loved that this had a complete twist on the NA Contemporary Romance story that so many in this genre has. A lot of NA books has the typical good girl and bad boy romance but Cora completely twisted this and gave us a good guy and bad girl romance and I loved it. Cora is such a fantastic author and her story telling is just superb. She draws your attention right from the first page and has your heart hurting, dying to find out what happens to the characters so much that you literally cannot put it down.

Cade oh my Cade. I love him so much! I am just completely in love. As much as I like the bad boys in books I have a serious weakness for the good guys. I mean seriously bad boys are good and all but what girl doesn't want a uber sweet guy who would cherish you and treat you like a princess. I love Cade. He is the perfect guy while still being completely realistic. In a lot of book the typical good guy is so perfect that it would be impossible for him to be real. What I love about Cade is that he could completely be read. He could be that guy that you meet in a cafe or a bookstore or something. He isn't completely perfect. He makes mistakes and accepts that he was wrong and tries to make things right. And it is that that makes him the perfect guy. I just adore him! I want a Cade.

Max. Oh god how I love her. She is one of the best heroines I have ever read about. She is kick-ass and amazing. I loved that she was so kick-ass. She had this incredible 'nobody can touch me' front but when you got underneath it all you saw she was just the same as every other girl with vulnerabilities.

Cora is phenomenal at creating characters that you can just identify yourself with as they are so real. These persona's and personalities are people that you can pass everyday on the street. I love how realistic her stories are and I find that they just make them so much more endearing and that's why I love them even more.

Faking It just completely blew me away. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. It was phenomenal and I just can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I love her and I know no matter what she writes next I will just adore. She is definitely one of my favourite authors ever and I will just read everything that she writes. I don't even need to know what it is about just her name is enough for me to read it.
Faking It is just a must-read. It is sexy, funny, romantic and uplifting. Absolutely amazing!

"I know that I haven't stopped thinking about you since the day you sat down beside me at that coffee shop."
